Nissan Micra vs. Hyundai i10: Performance

One of the most successful hatchbacks of country is Hyundai i10. The trendy hatchback has a fluidic designed exterior with lavish interior. Hyundai India unveiled a next generation model of Hyundai i10 at Frankfurt Motor Show 2013.

Nisan has launched a face lifted model of Nissan Micra in the country. The Nissan Micra 2013 is first in segment to have CVT automatic gearbox. The hatchback has revised exterior and sophisticated interior.


Hyundai i10 is available in seven petrol and LPG engine variants.  The petrol model is built with 1.1L, IRDE petrol engine of displacement 1086cc. this churns out maximum power of 69PS@ 5500 RPM and torque of 101Nm@ 4500 RPM. The LPG model is powered by 1.1L iRDE2 LPG engine of 1086cc, the engine comes with easy LPG to petrol manual shift. A diesel model of Hyundai i10 is also announced by the company with a DOHC engine with VTVT of 1197cc displacement.

Nissan Micra is available in three petrol as well as five diesel versions. The Nissan Micra petrol model is built with 1.2L DOHC engine of 4- cylinders and 1198cc. this generates maximum power of 77PS@ 6000 RPM and torque of 104Nm@2000RPM while the diesel variant has a heart of 1.2L SOHC engine of displacement 1461cc. this produces maximum power of 65PS maximum power and torque of 160Nm. the car is matted with A five gear manual/ automatic transmission box.


Nissan Micra offers a better fuel efficiency than Hyundai i10

The VTVT engine delivers an optimise performance and claims a mileage of 14KMPL with petrol on the other hand Nissan Micra is blessed with a improve technology which consume 5% less fuel and delivers an impressive fuel economy of 18KMPL for petrol and 23KMPL for diesel.


Hyundai i10 is high on luxury quotient. It has central instrumentation which have gear shift indicator and fuel consumption indicator, electric sunroof makes interior more relaxing, height adjustable front seats, folding keys and electronically heated outside door mirrors that let you clean them without opening the windows.

Nissan Micra has more than 25 features loaded. Folding rear seats can provide extra boot space when needed. A new music system with iPod connectivity is installed in the dash board which is hooked into 4-speakersclimate control, key-less entry, Reverse parking camera, driver side front window with auto down and anti pinch function, power window and USB and Aux-in port, Bluetooth connectivity.

Hyundai Motors and Nissan motors both are equipped with similar safety features including engine immobilizer, ABS (anti locking braking system) with EBD, dual Airbags with front and rear seat belts, anti theft technology and central locking.


Hyundai i10 is  offered in Electric Red, Phantom Black, Garnet Red,  and Carbon Blue while Nissan Micra is available in Turquoise Blue and Olive Green colours.


Nissan Micra price is of 3.5-6.3 lakhs while Hyundai i10 price is of 4.7-6.2lakhs.


Nissan Micra is offered at a lower price than i10 but the comfort and luxury level of i10 is better but Micra has a more powerful and fuel efficient engine than Hyundai i10.
