The German automaker Skoda motors and Japanese automobile giant the Nissan Motors are the two most prominent names in the domestic market. Being working in the same segments, they are always subjected to face-off.

Nissan X-Trail is an SUV produced by Nissan Motors. It has a global name but the SUV is not fairing that well in domestic market as expected by the company. On the other hand Skoda is the leader in 10-20lakhs SUV segment. But with most of its models being discontinued Skoda was facing tough competition from rival groups so Skoda launched Yeti in the market.


X-Trail is more powerful than Skoda Yeti with the compensation on mileage. Nissan X-Trail is available only with diesel model powered by 1995cc, 2.0L CRDi diesel engine. This engine generates maximum power of 148PS@4000RPM and torque of 320Nm@2000RPM.

Skoda Yeti offers a diesel model is crafted with a 1968cc, 2L, 16V, Turbocharged Diesel engine. This engine produces maximum power of 109PS@4200RPM and torque of 250Nm@2500RPM.


X-Trail gives a mileage of 10KMPL in city and 14KMPL on highway while Yeti offers amazing mileage of 14.3KMPL on city roads and 17.7KMPL on highways.


The flamboyance exterior of X-Trail is treated with broad chrome radiator grille and big headlamp cluster. The round shaped fog lamps make the front facia more dynamic. The 16-inch alloy wheels at the side make SUVs look more masculine and also maintain sturdy road grip. The rear is quite plain and smooth with rear defogger and large tail lights.

Yeti has an elegant persona with elegant and fluidic design. The D shaped large headlight clusters with chrome plated fog lamps makes the SUVs look bolder while the 16-inch alloy wheels at the side give it a sporty appeal. The shinny twin pipe exhausts at the rear end looks dynamic.


X-Trail has a classy interior design. The comfortable adjustable seats provide ample leg and head room. The high quality beige treatment with soft finish is done in the cabin making it more comfortable and spacious. The chrome and silver lining is used on door handle and dashboard. The foldable rear seats can enhance the luggage compartment.

Yeti has a dual tone cabin with height adjustable front seat to provide ample comfort for the occupants. The chrome lined steering wheel with door handles look very luxurious. The 60:40 adjustable rear seats can give extra boot space when needed. It has boot space of 416L.


Nissan X-Trail is equipped with all necessary comfort and convenience features like Accessory socket, music system with USB port connectivity, Remote trunk and fuel lid opener, electronically control ORVM, power steering, Aux and Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation

Yeti is blessed with a 6.5inch LCD TFT touch screen music system which is hooked in 8 speakers for concert like sound. Controls are mounted on the steering wheel for music system and cruise control. AUX and Bluetooth connectivity is also available.

Nissan X-Trail and Skoda Yeti both are equipped with best in class safety features like Engine Drag Control System, ABS; EBD, dual airbags with front and rear seatbelts is also given. Child safety lock, engine immobilizer and central locking are also available.


Nissan X-Trail is offered in Sapphire Blue, EVO Champagne Gold, Pearl White, Diamond Black and Graphite Grey colours.

Skoda Yeti is available in Magic Black, Corrida Red, Mato Brown, Aqua Mist and Brilliant Silver.


Nissan X-Trail is more expensive than Skoda Yeti. X-Trail is priced at 22.8-27.3lakhs while Yeti will price at 14.7-18.3lakhs.


Nissan X-Trail offers a more powerful diesel engine than Skoda Yeti and it is best suited for Off-road driving, but for country which is more obsessed with fuel efficiency and price, Skoda Yeti proves to be a better option.
