Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the only SUV from Maruti Suzuki. The SUV is perfect off roader with a host of features and rigid body construction resulting in lighter weight and smooth driving. Grand Vitara is imported as Completely Built Unit in India the latest model has received some cosmetic changes on the other hand the latest facelift model of Chevrolet Captiva was launched recently. Captiva symbolise power and masculinity.


Chevrolet Captiva is available only in diesel variant with a 2.2L, 2231cc, 4-Cylinder diesel engine which produces maximum output of 87PS@ 3800 RPM and maximum torque of 424Nm@ 2000 RPM with six-speed manual gear transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has a 2393cc, four cylinder 2.4L, 4- cylinder, DOHC petrol engine under the hood which produces maximum power of 129PS@ 6000 RPM and 300Nm@ 4000 RPM of torque. The SUV features five-speed manual gearbox and offers a four wheel drive besides a fuel efficient two-wheel drive mode.


Chevrolet Captiva gives a mileage of 9 KMPL in city and 12 KMPL on highway while Grand Vitara maintains a mileage of 7 KMPL in city and 10 KMPL on highway.


The Captiva has a stylish and dynamic exterior. The front facia has a fresh new fog lamps, front bumper and chrome grille and prominent insignia of the company is embedded at the centre of radiator grille add bold and aggressive look to the car. The side profile is dominated with sturdy wheel which has 17-inch light alloy wheels which gives a glimpse of power of this SUV. The rear end is treated with new refresh bumper and exhaust pipe giving a sporty feel on the other hand the exterior of Vitara has a new masculine front bumper with black plastic insertion, a revised radiator grille and revamped fog lamps which looks very stylish. The headlights have black insertion which imparts a distinct look. The 17-18 inch alloy wheels depending on the trim with body coloured ORVM at the side fascia looks appealing. The tyres also maintains smooth grip on the roads. The rear is equipped with 16inch spare wheel mounted on the rear door.


The SUV segment is known for their masculine exterior and luxurious interior. The interior of Captiva is treated with black coloured cabin which looks very elegant with high-tech looking central console. The stylish leather cover steering wheel and leather cover gear knob add luxury to the cabin. The split double folding second row seats has reclined function and prove to be very comfortable and provide ample leg room. The SUV is equipped with a list of some special features like 4- spoke multi- function steering wheel has cruise control and music system control buttons mounted on it, blue light LED instrument cluster, dual zone climate control is offered.

The Interiors of Grand Vitara is very spacious and makes a relaxing ambience for occupants. The 60:40 folding rear seats provide extra luggage while the front seats are adjustable and have lumber supports. The cabin is high on luxury quotient with a 6.1 touch screen installed on dashboard, navigation system, CD, SD Card, radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity.


Chevrolet Captiva and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara both are equipped with almost similar safety features like dual SRS airbags for both front seats with safety belts for front and rear seats, ABS (Anti- Lock Braking system) with EBD, Engine Drag Control System, child safety lock, engine immobilizer and central locking is given.


Chevrolet Captiva is available in many trendy colours like Pearl White, Switch blade Silver, Carbon Flash and moulan Rogue while Grand Vitara also features few stylish paint jobs like Graphite Grey Pearl, Blueish Black Pearl, Silky Silver, Metallic Clear Beige and Cat’s eye blue metallic.


Chevrolet Captiva is priced at 24.5lakhs while Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will cost between 15.0- 24.6 lakhs.


Chevrolet Captiva offers a more stylish exterior design with some unique features and more luxurious cabin. The SUV also maintain a better mileage but Vitara has a more powerful engine and has a trustful brand name of Maruti.
