The new facelift version of Chevrolet Captiva was launched recently in the SUVs segment off the country. The new entry has to battle already establish name in the segment the Honda CR-V.

Performance

Chevrolet Captiva is available only in diesel variant. Its heart is crafted with a 2231cc, 2.2L, 4-Cylinder diesel engine this produces maximum power off 87PS@3800RPM and torque of 424Nm@2000RPM with six-speed manual gear transmission. It can attain top speed of 200KMPH and reach to 100KMPH in just 10 sec.

Honda CR-V is available only in petrol variant. The SUV is fitted with a 2354cc, 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC diesel engine that churns out maximum power of 190PS@7000RPM and maximum torque of 226Nm@4400RPM.  Honda CR-V has a top speed of 190KM/H and touch the 100KM/h mark in just 14 sec.

Mileage

Honda CR-V gives better mileage than Chevrolet Captiva.

Captiva gives a mileage of 9 KMPL in city and 12 KMPL on highway while Honda CR-V gives a mileage of 11KMPL in city and 14KMPL on highway. But the advantage in FE is lost by the fact that CRV runs on Petrol.

Exterior

The Captiva has a stylish exterior. The bold front facia has a fresh front bumper, fog lamps ad chrome grille. The prominent badge of the company is embedded at the center of radiator grille. The sturdy wheel at the side has 17-inch light alloy wheels make the SUV look rugged. The revised bumper and exhaust pipe at the rear give it a sporty appeal.

Honda CR-V has a flawless and amazing design. The sleek front fascia is dominated with large halogen headlamp cluster along with chrome radiator grille in two step format gives a sturdy look to the SUV. Front to rear running side a skirt adds a sporty touch while the side profile has body coloured rear-view mirror with integrated turn indicator. The roof is treated with eclectically operated sunroof.

Interior

The luxurious interior of Captiva is treated with stylish gear knob and leather cover steering wheel. The split double folding second row seats has recline function and provide maximum comfort to occupants. The black coloured cabin looks very elegant with high-tech looking central console.

Honda CR-V features an elegant and comfortable interior. The cushioned seats provide ample head and leg room. The tilt power steering provides comfortable driving position. The 8-way adjustable front seats enhance the comfort level in the cabin. It has boot space of 589L.

Features

Some unique features like “Touch-Pad” lift gate mechanism along with seat-belt warning, Dual Zone Climate control system, illuminated door-sill covers, multi-functional power steering with cruise control and push button starting is given with Captiva. Some standard features like parcel box, cup holder, power windows etc are also come factory fitted.

Honda CR-V has some new and unique features installed. The dual zone AC with rear Ac vents, new i-MID technology that will help you control the volume of music system; perform hands free telephony, rear camera display for parking, Instrument Cluster with Eco assists system to provide information on temperature, fuel consumption and time., steering mounted audio control is given

Safety

Chevrolet Captiva and Honda CR-V both are equipped with almost similar safety features like dual SRS airbags for both front seats with safety belts for front and rear seats is given. ABS, EBD and Engine Drag Control System for smooth breaking besides is also installed, beside these features like child safety lock, engine immobilizer and central locking is also given.

Colours

Chevrolet Captiva is available in variety of colours like Pearl White, Carbon Flash, Switch blade Silver and moulan Rogue.

Honda CR-V is available in Alabaster Silver Metallic, Urban Sparking Brown, Metallic Titanium Metallic and Taffeta White.

Price

Chevrolet Captiva is priced at 24.5lakhs while Honda CR-V is available at 20.2-24.5lakhs.

Verdict

Honda CR-V offers better refinement and Honda Quality + reliability. Captiva’s diesel motor has oodles of torque and is fast off the line with a certain street presence.
