Maruti Swift is a fantastic car and has good features. It has a spacious cabin area with ample leg and head room for the front passengers while the rear leg room could have been slightly better. It has comfortable seats that offer good support to the body. It also brings an effective air con with automatic climate control, dual air bags and MP3/CD player with good speakers. It has a boot space of 206 liters.
Volkswagen has done a very good job with their Polo hatchback in the Indian car market. They have given it good interior features that are on par with the rest of the cars in the segment and also better than some others. It has height adjustable driver seat and tilt adjustable telescopic power steering. It brings power windows, CD/MP3 music system and front arm rests and a total boot space of 280 liters.

Maruti Swift brings a powerful 1.2 liter engine which makes 86 BHP and 114 NM of maximum torque at 4000 RPM. ARAI has rated this engine to deliver 18.6 kmpl from the petrol engine. The diesel engine variant is a 1.3 liter DDiS engine which makes 74 BHP at 4000 RPM and 190 NM of torque at 2000 RPM and has been rated by ARAI to deliver 20 kmpl. Both the engines have low NVH levels and excellent performance.
Volkswagen Polo is available in a 1.2 liter three cylinder engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox and produces 74 BHP at 5400 RPM and 110 NM of torque at 3750 RPM and a 1.6 liter four cylinder petrol engine which produces 103 BHP at 5250 RPM and and 153 NM of torque at 3750RPM. ARAI certified fuel efficiency for 1.2 liter Polo is 17.2 kmpl and 1.6 liter Polo engine delivers 15.26 kmpl. Volkswagen Polo is also available in a diesel engine variant that produces 74 BHP at 4200 RPM and 180 NM of torque at 2000 RPM and has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 22.07 kmpl.

Maruti Swift is a very good car and brings a plush ride quality and well tuned suspension setup. It offers a comfortable driving experience and is one of the better cars in the segment. It handles well and is a fun to drive car in the city and has excellent highway manners. It has a very well weighted steering unit that offers good feedback to the driver and the powerful brakes aided by ABS + EBD offer excellent stopping power.
Volkswagen Polo is a fantastic car to drive. It is one of the most driver friendly cars out there. It brings excellent suspension setup that allows you to drive spiritedly around curves. It absorbs all the bumps and rides like a bigger car. It has excellent ride quality and the steering unit offers excellent feedback to the driver.
